4 Types of food that ruins your teeth


Soda, candy or other high sweet food that has high sugar
building mountain of germs from sticky carbohydrate
and this causes mineral in our teeth starting to disappeared and leads to corrosion.

That’s why it’s good to maintain habit of brushing teeth after consuming food
that has high sugar level for our dental health.


However, even though we heard a lot about good effect of some of these healthy foods, we also need to know the bad influence to our dental health.
Let’s get to know more about it.

Orange, Lemon, other Citrus fruits


Even though the most important ingredients from orange, lemon and other citrus fruits is the vitamin C that maintaining collagen in our gum,
over consuming those foods aren’t good for our dental health.

This is because after consuming those foods such as oranges or lemon,
we drink a lot of water and the acid weakened and slows the growth of a substance called enamel in our teeth which leads to corrosion.

Also on 2011, on ‘British Journal of Nutrition’ announced that
grapefruit juice causes corrosion as much as Coke(cola) does.
Specialist said that high acid level inside grapefruit weaken our teeth,
that’s why it’s recommended to brush teeth within 20 minutes after ingest citrus fruits.

Pickled vegetables

We usually find pickled vegetables inside sandwiches for its low calories and taste. However we need to know that pickled vegetables has acid and sugar level
which makes it high acid food.

It’s good to balance consumption of pickled vegetables
with food that neutralize the acidity.
For example to consume cheese to balance out since it contains calcium.

Dried fruits


Dried fruits definitely contain a lot of sugar, so it’s easily stick to our teeth.
Foods that contain a lot of sugar easily stick to our teeth
and it builds germs when it happens.
This time, teeth are going to be rotten if we don’t brush our teeth cleanly.

It’s good to rinse our mouth with water and brush our teeth 20 minutes after
to cleanse the residue after we consume dried fruits.

Coffee


Coffee contains antioxidant that good for our teeth.
However, it could form coloring plaque in our teeth.

It’s good to consume coffee that has less sugar,
and use straw when we consume ice coffee.

To reduce damage,
putting milk than sugar helps to counter balance the acidity from coffee.


So now we know that the most important thing is
to constantly taking a good care of our teeth, don’t we?

It’s important to brush teeth cleanly and visit dentist regularly to get check treatment.
