What’s for Wrinkles, Botox or Filler?

What’s for Wrinkles, Botox or Filler?

Botox and filler have many similarities.
1. They’re simple injection treatment using shots.
2. There’s no need to worry about anesthesia or incision since they’re not surgeries.
3. They would take 5-10 minutes minimally, and 30 minutes maximally including anesthesia.
4. There would be no certain recovery period after the treatment.
5. There would be bruise or swelling, but not obvious as the surgery case.

Then, what would be the differences?

Botox is kind of medicine after refining neuro-toxin called botulinum toxin.
It paralyzes the muscle, which was actually used to cure squint or facial tic.
However, from after it was told to be effective for wrinkle improvements,
it is being used more to improve wrinkles and square jaw.

After the botox injection, there would be paralysis on muscle,
so muscle cannot be moved.
Muscle is degraded when not used.
This is the same result as after removing cast on the leg.
You could see the leg with cast is thinner than the other one.
Likewise, the wrinkles are improved by the paralyzed muscle~

Filler has different principle from botox.
Filler also has its name, meaning literally ‘filling’.
It’s to inject on indented area making it flat or convex.

The applying area would be different as different principles!
Botox is for making slimmer square jaw line,
and improving wrinkles near eyes and forehead.

What about filler? Actually it can improve many areas.
Indian fold, nasolabial fold, wrinkles between eyebrows, fine wrinkles under eyes,
and almost all kinds of wrinkles could be improved by filler injection.

It helps flat nose be sharp, hollow cheeks be voluminous, indented temples be smooth, and makes fuller lips.

By the way, here comes a question.
What if you care for wrinkles between eyebrows?
Both botox and filler could be effective for them!
Then could you just choose cheaper one?
The answer is NO. They are used for different effects.

Wrinkles on forehead, between eyebrows, and near eyes
which are seen when smiling or frowning are generally for botox injection.

Botox is for your 30s-40s when the wrinkles are usually made.

However, if wrinkles are too deep because of aging or too indented that’s obvious even without facial impressions,
botox would be less effective.

Then there’s filler for you! It fills the hollow space up~

Now, do you understand their differences?

The Procedure of Two Jaw Surgery and A.S.O

The Procedure of Two Jaw Surgery and A.S.O

There are two cases of protruded mouth:
1. Protruded teeth
2. Protruded bone of gum

For the first case,
it could be solved by pulling out tooth
which is next to the canine
and pushing the protruded one inwards.

It would take 2-3 years for orthodontics,
but there would be no need of surgery.

For the second case with protruded bone of gum,
there is no other way but to do
two jaw surgery or A.S.O.(Anterior Segmental Osteotomy).
However, as the fundamental problem is the gum bone,
pushing it inwards would be a resolution.
This surgery is A.S.O.

You could imagine two jaw surgery for chin-side surgery,

but two jaw surgery and A.S.O are totally different
while you could be drastically changed after both surgeries.

<Two jaw surgery>

Two jaw surgery is to push upper jaw and lower jaw inwards and pull outwards.
That’s the reason that it’s named as two jaw surgery.
If you’re not a serious case of protruded mouth, push both inwards.
If you have jutting chin, upper jaw is pulled out and push the lower one inwards.
In case of long face, shorten both.
For asymmetric face, change the location of both.

Two jaw surgery is to control the location of the bones.

Then what about A.S.O?

It’s to pull out 4 teeth next to canine teeth, and pushing gum bone inwards.
It’s not to change the angle but only to push inwards in the case of A.S.O, so it’s for serious protruded mouth.

You might have protruded mouth if you are like below.

1. Teeth are seen easily that you cannot close your mouth fully.
2. Mouth is often open, and you have fine wrinkles on chin when the mouth is closed.
3. If you put the ruler on the nose tip and chin tip, both lips are on the ruler, too.
4. You have little effect even after the nose surgery to improve flat nose.
5. You’re often told angry
6. You don’t have confidence on profile look, and have a vague mouth shape on photos.
7. You get dry on mouth and lips because of the habit of open mouth during sleep.

The more you say yes for lists above, the more chance you have for protruded mouth.

What’s important for protruded mouth correction?
Pulling out teeth is essential to get space to push the gum bone inwards.
So you cannot progress A.S.O if you don’t have any teeth to be pulled out.

There are some cases of pulling out teeth first
as the procedure of orthodontics
which ended without good results.
A.S.O cannot be performed on these patients since they already pulled out the teeth.
Two jaw surgery could be the solution for this case, so don’t worry!

If your mouth is just a little protruded,
there are some solutions as
two jaw surgery,
nose surgery,
and lower jaw surgery.
The way to solve will be different by the condition and basic reason for protrusion!

Especially, patients with protruded mouth visit the dental clinic first,
since they think just teeth are protruded.

You could have free consultation at Banobagi Clinic for protruded mouth correction:)

Aftercare for Rhinoplasty

Aftercare for Rhinoplasty

Q1.

How long does it take for recovery?

You should get 5-7 days of recovery at least.

The ‘recovery’ here means the term for stitch removal and heal up.

Q2.

When would the stitch removal be?

Generally, it takes 5-7 days after surgery, and washing face should be after stitch out.

Washing hair is available after stitch out if you got the cartilage out from the ear,

so you are recommended to visit the hair salon to wash your hair if you need to do before the stitch out.

Q3.

How long does the swelling last for?

The second and third day would be the most swollen term, and rest of the swelling would be decreased after about 2-4 weeks.

(Actually, it depends on individuals!)

It would be helpful to get your head higher than the heart when you’re sleeping.

Q4.

Which do I need to do, ice-pack or hot-pack?

You should ice-pack till the 3rd day after the surgery to reduce swelling,

and hot-pack from the 4th day to remove bruise.

(You could do both if the swelling is remained.)

However, do not press too heavily with the pack or get the pack too hot.

You could do for 15 minutes, take a rest, and do again.

Q5.

I heard that drinking and smoking is forbidden after the surgery.

Both are BANNED.

The alcoholic elements make the body temperature high
which could make inflammation,
and smoking makes the scar recovery to be delayed
which would promote inflammation.

This is the reason that it’s said to avoid them 2-4 weeks at least.

Q6.

Is there any precaution after the rhinoplasty?

You should be careful neither to run into anything nor to blow your nose,
so don’t catch a cold!
