Q1.

How can botox remove wrinkles?

 

Botox temporarily paralyzes the muscle under the skin
and improves the wrinkles by muscle tightening.

Can I see the effect of botox right after injection?

 

You could see effect averagely after 3~5 days,
and the effect is maximized after 2~3 weeks.

You can see it after about a month in the case of square jaw botox
since the muscle is contracted at first.

Is the effect of botox permanent?
 
Botox improves wrinkles by temporary paralysis,
so you may be in need of re-injection.
Average duration is about 6 months and it differs by individuals.
Duration would be longer if injected several times.

Is it so hurt?
It uses thin shot needle and injects on the area,
so not that painful.
However, it varies by injecting area,
for example, it hurts a little bit for areas like forehead
and middle of the forehead, less near eyes, seldom on the chin.

Avoid lying down for a few hours is recommended.

Botulinum toxin works on physical nerves
but not on sensory nerves,
so there wouldn’t be paralysis.
Feeling heavy on the injected area is
because that face is a sensitive area that
temporary paralysis and swelling would make you feel in that way,
but it would be alright in a few days.

Would wrinkles be deeper when effects are gone?
 
Botox temporarily paralyzes the muscle to prevent more wrinkles.
You would feel wrinkles are deeper,
but it just came back before botox.

I heard the effect would last for a year
if injected continuously.

so that effect lasts longer or injection dose is decreased than before.

People who say like that are confused of botox and filler.

The problem is some of botox are unqualified like industrial silicone
which cannot work well on human bodies
so that immune system is against it
by making uneven surface or rolling down as time goes.
