BANOBAGI 'Mask Pack Trademark' dispute won “Brand Reliability rather than Sales & Packaging"

BANOBAGI
'Mask Pack Trademark' dispute won
“Brand Reliability rather than
Sales & Packaging"

Medical beauty group Banobagi won the lawsuit over mask pack trademark rights.
According to the industry on July 14, 63 of the Seoul Central District Court,
Civil agreement, Part 63 (Chief Prosecuting Attorney Park Wonkyu)
company A filed a claim that 'BANOBAGI' can't use the design
applied to the mask pack and pay 150 million won
and the claimed plaintiffs veridcted to lost.
BANOBAGI is a brand named after four specialists
who founded Banobagi Plastic Surgery in 2000.
Since 2015, BANOBAGI has introduced Derma Cosmetics products.

A company signed a trademark license agreement with Banobagi
and distributes the Banobagi mask pack.
After the 2017 contract has ended.
However, they manufactured and sold a mask pack
with a similar design in a package called 'BNBG'.

In the market, as the BANOBAGI and BNBG mask packs were distributed together,
it was recognized that the BANOBAGI mask pack was a pre-renewal product
or a similar product (aka fake).
The company filed a lawsuit with the intention that the Banobagi mask pack design
was developed by the company.

However, the court did not accept A's claim that
there were many similar designs already at the time of product launch
and that Banobagi participated in the design planning stage.
Banobagi's claim that the sales of the BANOBAGI brand's mask packs
depended on the brand reliability built up from the hospital
rather than the packaging design.

Meanwhile, Banobagi is expanding its influence to foreign countries
such as Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Russia & etc.
by introducing new products such as jelly masks in June of last year.
In Vietnam, the company recently launched three types of vitagenic jelly masks.
From January next year, the company will participate in a program
aired by the Vietnamese broadcaster VTV2 and introduce products.

Preparing For A Facelift: 6 Tips That You Can Do Now

Preparing For A Facelift: 6 Tips That You Can Do Now

People elect to undergo various cosmetic surgery procedures because they want to look as youthful and attractive as possible. As we age, certain environmental factors, such as smoking or lots of exposure to the sun can speed up the appearance of wrinkles and/or sagging skin. The fact is that developing wrinkles is inevitable, and many people become self-conscious about everything from fine lines to sagging skin around the neck and eyes. A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a common procedure that is meant to combat the natural aging process. It not only can tighten the skin, which results in less wrinkles and furrows, it can also address the development of jowls underneath the chin.  Here are some tips to know when preparing for a facelift.

Preparing For A Facelift: Important Things To Know

Do Your Research

The idea of having any kind of surgery done can be disquieting at best and downright nerve-wracking at best. One of the biggest things you can do to alleviate anxiety about your surgery is to take away the unknown factor, and do as much research as possible. Talk with your doctor about exactly what is going to take place, and exactly what to expect during and after your facelift. The more you know, the more empowered and in control of the situation you will feel.

Get a Full Evaluation

The first step in the facelift process is to receive a full medical evaluation. This includes getting specific lab tests done. These lab tests will ensure your doctor is aware of any possible underlying health problems and/or risk factors that might be present.

Quit Smoking

This is absolutely essential and will help your health in the long run anyway. Smoking restricts blood flow and causes circulatory issues. Therefore, it is important to give up any and all tobacco products, including vaping for at least a few months before surgery.

Quit Taking Certain Medications

Some medications have the potential to cause bleeding.  It is important to completely cut these out before a facelift. This means Aspirin, anti-inflammatory medicines and the vast majority of herbal supplements.  Discuss with your doctor beforehand before you take any medicine.

Have a Plan

You will be undergoing general anesthesia. This means you need to have someone drive you to and pick you up from your appointment. Likewise, you should have a detailed conversation with your doctor as to what you should expect during the recovery process. If you normally live alone, make arrangements for someone to come stay with you for at least the first few days after, as you will likely be under the influence of pain medication and may need help with certain tasks.
It is essential that you carefully listen to and adhere to any post-op instructions. Attend all post-op appointments as scheduled.

Preparing For A Facelift: Final Thoughts

Having a facelift is a wonderful way to look as youthful on the outside as you feel on the inside. Call our office today to get more information or for scheduling an initial consultation!

Breast Lift Surgery Guide: The effects of Gravity

Breast Lift Surgery Guide: The effects of Gravity

As every woman knows gravity can have an unfortunate effect on the breasts as we grow older. Particularly after childbirth or in women with very large breasts, the skin can sag and our breasts look less attractive.  A doctor can fix this condition with cosmetic surgery. Read our breast lift surgery guide to learn more about this procedure.
A breast lift, also known as a mastopexy, is the ideal procedure for this condition. It is a surgery that involves removing excess skin and reshaping the breast’s tissue to provide a more elevated, youthful appearance. It is important to note that a breast lift will not really alter the actual cup size of your breasts. However, it is common to combine this procedure with a breast reduction or augmentation.
There are a few things to consider before undergoing a breast lift. The size of your breasts is important, as women with smaller cup sizes will tend to experience longer lasting results than women with very large breasts. Likewise, if you are planning on becoming pregnant, this is probably not the best choice for you. If you get this procedure, it can interfere with breastfeeding. You must quit smoking and stop using any medicine that might increase the risk of bleeding.

Details of the Surgery

A breast lift involves undergoing general anesthesia. After you are asleep, the doctor will make a small incision either simply around the areola or around the areola and downward. The doctor will reshape the breast tissue and will position the nipple and areola in a higher spot. Afterwards, excess skin is removed. The incisions are then closed up and your recovery time begins.
It typically takes up to a few months to be completely healed. Your doctor will apply bandages to the treated area. it is very important that you change these dressings exactly as instructed and to keep the incisions clean. You will be expected to wear a support bra while your breasts are healing. You must also avoid any heavy lifting or bending.  After the first few days, you should be able to shower, and pain levels usually decrease significantly after the first week or so.  You may experience moderate to strong pain at first so it’s important to follow your pain treatment plan and take the medications prescribed by your doctor.
Breast lift surgery does result in some amount of scarring. When the doctor makes the incision, they will do so in a way that places the scars in as low visibility of an area as is possible. While the scars may look quite dramatic during the healing process, keep in mind that they will fade as time goes on. In some instances, the scars may barely be noticeable.
As with any surgery, there are potential risks to consider. Besides infection or bleeding, some women also experience numbness and/or tingling in the breasts or nipples. While this usually goes away, in some cases, it can be permanent.
Our team is always happy to answer any questions you might have. Contact us and see if breast lift surgery is right for you!

Breast Reduction Surgery: Some Characteristics

When we think about the ideal female body in today’s society, there are certain characteristics that come to mind. One of the biggest things that men typically associate with female attractiveness is a large breast size.  A lot of people consider women with large breasts as sexier than their smaller-cup sized brethren. This explains why there is such a large market for breast enhancement and/or enlargement surgeries. In some cases, however, women with very large breasts may find that they suffer actual health problems. In these cases, breast reduction surgery is a possible option.

Reasons For Breast Reduction

A large breast size can contribute to feelings of insecurity and self-consciousness.  It can also actually restrict physical activity, and can even result in serious physical health issues. These health issues are chronic back pain, shoulder pain and in some cases, even pinched nerves.
Breast reduction surgery or reduction mammaplasty is a procedure that is meant, in simple terms, to reduce breast size. In some cases,  a doctor performs breast reduction to reduce physical discomfort.  In other cases, a doctor can perform this to make the body and breasts more properly proportioned.
Things to Consider
Before you undergo surgery, there are certain things you need to consider if you get a breast reduction. If you are anticipating having a baby,  a doctor does not recommend breast reduction surgery. This procedure can skew milk production. This means that if you want to have children, it’s best to delay.  Likewise, if you are planning to lose a significant amount of weight,  you should wait until after your weight loss. Natural weight loss can sometimes decrease breast size on its own.

Breast Reduction Surgery: The Details

Breast reduction surgery involves undergoing general anesthesia.  A doctor administers general anesthesia and makes an incision around the areola, and down the breast. After the doctor and patient decide on the amount of removal of the breast tissue, the doctor removes it via liposuction. Afterwards, the doctor correctly positions the nipple and areola and closes the incisions.
Immediately following the surgery, your breasts will be bound in bandaging, and you may or may not need a tube for removing any excess fluid. The pain can be intense enough, particularly in the first week or so where you will have to take the medicine prescribed by your doctor. You will need to wear an elastic compression bra as well to ensure that your breasts are properly supported throughout the recovery process. Be sure to limit yourself to light activities, and avoid wearing underwire bras until your doctor says it is okay to do so.

Breast Reduction Surgery: Last Thoughts

As with any surgery, it is very important that you are in the best possible shape going into the procedure. Be sure to follow any and all directions your doctor gives you. You will almost certainly have to quit smoking beforehand, as well as ceasing taking any kind of medicine that could contribute to bleeding.
Some women are not ideal candidates for breast reduction surgery. If you have certain medical conditions, such as heart disease or diabetes, you may not be able to safely undergo the procedure.

At Banobagi, we have a unique approach to breast reduction.  We perform a dual-slim breast reduction. This means that we not only perform the breast reduction but also provide body contouring that is proportionate to your new breasts. The result is a balanced bodyline with nice, new beautiful breasts and a slim figure.
If you are interested in our dual slim breast reduction, don’t hesitate to contact our team today to book a consultation!

Tummy Tuck Tips : Everything You Should Know

Let’s face it, nearly everyone wants to have a flat, smooth stomach. The abdominal area can be one of the hardest spots to lose excess weight. It doesn’t matter how many sit-ups we do, nothing seems to help. After the skin is stretched,  or after a great deal of weight is lost, you can be left with a saggy, unattractive appearance. This, of course, can make you feel self-conscious.
Electing to undergo a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is one of the best ways to combat excess stomach fat. Not only does the procedure remove unwanted fat and tighten the skin, but it also actually tightens the abdominal muscles as well. Before undergoing the procedure, there are few tummy tuck tips that you should be aware of.

Top Tummy Tuck Tips

  • Review Your Overall Health: Talk with your doctor before undergoing any kind of plastic surgery. You need to be aware of any potential health risks. For instance, if a woman plans on getting pregnant, a tummy tuck is not recommended.  Bad candidates of a tummy tuck have a  BMI over 30. Additionally, if you are planning to lose a big amount of weight, a tummy tuck is not ideal.

Plan And Research

  • Understand the Recovery Process:  While a mini-tummy tuck is less invasive and has a shorter period of recovery afterward, it does not provide as dramatic of results. You will likely have a tube inserted underneath your skin to allow fluids to drain away and will be expected to wear a compression garment to ensure that everything is healing the way it should. During the period of recovery, which can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, it is important to avoid lifting heavy objects or participating in rigorous activity.

  • Have a Pain Management Plan: While almost all patients experience at least some amount of discomfort after the procedure, some may find the recovery process more painful than others. It is important to prevent pain before it starts. One way to do this is to regularly participate in light physical activity, such as walking. Walking is a great way to reduce blood clots and get your circulation going. You should also avoid smoking, as it constricts blood flow to the area and makes the healing process much longer. Finally, do everything you can to avoid becoming constipated, as this will put more pressure on the healing abdominal muscles.

  • Take Proper Care of Your Incisions: Pay close attention to the instructions given to you after your procedure. You need to properly care for your incisions.  This will help you recover faster. Be sure to follow your doctor’s instructions exactly. Make sure to change your bandages accordingly. Additionally, you should keep your incisions as clean as possible. Always be on the look for signs of infection, such as swelling, redness, warmth or pus from the incisions. If you experience any of these, call your doctor immediately.

Coolsculpting and Liposuction: Methods of Fat Removal

If you maintain a healthy diet and participate in a regular exercise program, these are the best ways to achieve weight loss. Yet in spite of our best efforts, looking towards plastic surgery to remove excess fat is a desirable option. In this case, we typically have two options, either electing for liposuction or a relatively newer procedure called CoolSculpting. Both processes have their benefits and drawbacks. Therefore it is ultimately up to you to decide which method will be best. What are the differences between coolsculpting and liposuction?
Read on more to discover the differences and similarities.
What is Liposuction?
Liposuction is a fairly routine cosmetic procedure that is aimed at removing fatty deposits from trouble areas in the body. Most common treatment areas are the stomach, thighs, and waist. It has been around for more than three decades, and there are a few different versions of it. Suction Assisted Lipectomy or SAL is the most common liposuction. This involves utilizing suction on an area of the body, and it is the method from which the procedure gets its name. There are other techniques available too, which use lasers or even sound waves to break up the fatty deposits.
Liposuction And Weight Loss
You can’t lose weight with liposuction. It is only meant to troubleshoot problem areas of the body. Ideally, it is best for people who maintain a healthy lifestyle and reasonable BMI, but simply have areas where they are unable to lose areas of fat.
Liposuction is a surgical procedure. This means you will need to take general anesthesia. This can carry risks in and of itself. After the procedure, there is often some amount of swelling and physical discomfort present. This means you will need to wear a  compression garment around the treated area for a few weeks.
What is CoolSculpting?
With CoolSculpting, a doctor freezes stubborn fat cells. A doctor doesn’t use suction but uses extreme cold. This is applied to a target area. These cold temperatures freeze and destroy fat cells. As a result, they are eliminated on their own over a few months of time.

Cool Sculpting And Weight Loss

Like liposuction,  you can’t lose weight with CoolSculpting. You must be in relatively good health to undergo the procedure. Hence, there are certain health conditions that will disqualify you from participating.
Unlike liposuction, CoolSculpting treatments are non-invasive. It is not a surgical procedure. As a result, you will not take anesthesia. This will reduce the likelihood of any potential complications.  You may feel discomfort during the procedure.  It is usually mild tugging or stinging sensations coupled with an intense feeling of cold. Generally, these feelings are so minimal that you are able to carry on a conversation, play a game on your phone or otherwise do whatever you want while being treated.  Afterwards, you receive a quick massage to help break up the now-frozen fat cells, and you’ll be on your way out the door!
So Which is Better?
When considering liposuction vs CoolSculpting, it really comes down to what you are looking for. Liposuction has existed for a long time.  Because of this, some people feel more comfortable.  While both provide you with good results, CoolSculpting is also far less invasive, has fewer complications and risks and a much shorter recovery period. Usually, you can achieve the desired results with one liposuction session. However,  CoolSculpting might require multiple visits to effectively treat stubborn areas, which can also add up in expenses.
If you need to find out more about which one is more suitable for you, contact us. We will be happy to answer all your questions.
