Precautions Before a Plastic Surgery
01. No Smoking , No Drinking
If you already know your surgery day, you should stop drinking alcohol nor smoking at least 1 week before the operation date. The cigarette chemicals could affect the result of the surgery, and it may cause sputum during the anesthesia which is not good. Also, drinking may affect anesthesia process, so it is important to follow physician and nurse’s direction for safe surgery.
Local anesthesia/ Sedation(Deep sleeping) anesthesia requires at least 4 hours fasting before the surgery and for General anesthesia, 8 hours of fasting must be done for your own safety.
Before the surgery, avoid taking vitamin E, K, and aspirin from at least 2 weeks before due to its effect of anti-coagulation in blood. Also, you must let the clinic know what medication you are taking in advance with any disease if you have or diagnosed.
04. Previous medical history
If you have allergic reaction to any medication or have previous medical history and/or illness, you must let medical staff know about it to prevent any matter before/after surgery.
You should visit the clinic with comfortable clothes such as zip down or button down shirts, without make-up. Also, please remove all gel nails and toe nails and prepare hat, mask, scarf, etc. to wear after the surgery.
