Why Sunscreen is important to block summer Ultraviolet rays!

Why Sunscreen is important
to block summer Ultraviolet rays!

Summer is the sunniest time of the year!
The sun shines through the sun which makes our skin burnt.
When we go out in summer time, sun protection is essential.

The season with most UV rays throughout the year is April to September(in Korea).
The season with most UV rays may be different by countries
and the strongest UV rays are from 9am to 3pm.

It’s not only when the sun is shining but even on rainy or cloudy days,
ultraviolet light still works on our skin, so you should always apply sunscreen.

There are many people who wear hats or sunglasses when going out in Summer.
Hats and umbrella cannot completely block ultraviolet rays
but it’s far helpful for preventing damage from sunlight
than not wearing a hat/ protection at all.
The chance to protect the skin is 6 times higher on forehead area,
3 times higher on the nose and twice as much on the cheeks.
In addition, if you do outdoor activities without wearing a hat,
you will get 13 times more chance to get basal epithelial cell cancer
or squamous cell carcinoma cancer compared to wearing a hat.

Since the amount of ultraviolet ray is the most during the day from 10am to 3pm,
when you go out at this time, you are more concerned about ultraviolet ray blocking because ultraviolet ray A can enter the room through the window,
it is advisable to apply sunscreen.

Skin is usually exposed to ultraviolet rays because the skin is usually exposed to ultraviolet ray
when driving a car and when the car is stuck on a traffic.
It is better to apply sunscreen more thoroughly when driving.
There are still UV rays in cloudy weather, foggy weather or rainy days.
No matter how cloudy the weather is, ultraviolet rays are still 50%
compared to the sunny day, so it’s important to apply sunscreen in this weather.

It’s highly recommended to apply enough amount of sunscreen to block Ultraviolet rays well.
To be able to fully function, the ultraviolet screening ingredient must be fully absorbed
on the surface of the skin and it usually takes at least 30 minutes to do so.
Therefore, the sunscreen must be applied 30 minutes before exposure to ultraviolet light,
so it can be fully effective.
