Questions after Hair Implants
Q1.
For how long it would be uncomfortable?
It’s
for 2 days that you would feel discomfort.
There
is difference on individual after the anesthesia wears off, but some people
take painkillers additionally.
The
swelling on the face is also the heaviest on the second day.
So
it’s recommended to take enough rest right after the surgery.
Much
swelling or bruises because of weak body also would be gone after about a week.
The
scar makes a little bit of discomfort when taking a shower or washing hair, but
it will be better after about 3 days.
Sutured
area also doesn’t give much discomfort unless it’s barely sutured because of
the tension of tissue.
Q2.
When can I continue exercise after hair implant surgery?
You
should take a rest for a week not lifting heavy stuffs or exercising.
It’s
suggested to do easy aerobic exercise after 1~2 weeks.
You
can swim after 2nd week, and long-term travel or extreme sports are
recommended after 3~4 weeks.
Q3.
How can I wash my hair after the surgery?
- You
would visit the clinic two days after the surgery, and sterilize the areas.
You
will shampoo your hair at the clinic for the first time, and learn how to do.
You
can easily do after a few tries, and shampoo at home from the 3rd
day, and it will be comfortable if you wash in a stand position.
You
can rub the hair except the implanted area.
Q4.
I got acnes on implanted area.
- You
would have folliculitis if you shampoo your hair too carefully, and you also
can get it after 2~3 months when your hair grows again.
There
is not many cases except these two times.
You
can get rid of that clearly if that’s like an acne, but we recommend to visit
hospital if there are many.
Q5. How
can I deal with hair loss after hair implant?
- Most
of implanted hair is lost usually before the 4th week after the
implant.
You
don’t have to worry that follicles are remained, only hair is fallen out.
However,
there is a case that original hair is lost together not only implanted one.
It
really depends on individual that someone rarely lose while the other loses
almost all.
If
implanted among original hair on the area where hair loss is not fully
progressed, original follicle is stressed so that hair is fallen out
temporarily.
Q6. When
can I see the new hair after the implant?
Implanted
hair is almost lost before the 4th week and grow again from 2~3 months
after the surgery, till 6th month.
Firstly
grown hair is weak, thin, and maybe curled, but it becomes strong.
Hair
grows about 1 centimeter per month, so you have to wait to see it in same
length as original hair.
You
have to wait about 9 months to feel the change on implanted area.
Q7. When
could I visit hair salon after the surgery?
You
can visit the hair shop after 2~3 weeks to cut your hair, and hair dying or
curling can be done after 3~4 weeks.
Hair
will be grown from follicle after few months, and you can do as you want.
Q8.
Is scar on back of the head invisible?
After
the excision of hair skin on the backside of the head, suture will be done
finely if hair skins are pulled well. The scar will be remained as a thin line
unless you had hard time to suture.
It
means you don’t have to worry about it if your hair is long enough.
However,
the scar will be revealed if you collected your hair skin on the top side and
hair loss is progressed excessively at the backside, so you have to be careful
when collecting the hair skin.
You
also make a decision cautiously that there would be a big scar on surgery area
if you are keloidal which makes scar awfully big.
