Must read before surgery!
We need some advice from an experienced ~

Everyone says, “The surgery result differs by each person”.

However, we are still curious about it.
So, can we only find out by getting surgery done?
Of course, at least we need to know roughly about other people experiences first
before go for the surgery, right?

That’s why I prepared everything for all of you.
“Worries and curiosities before double eyelid surgery”

These are other patients’ experiences!

Q1.
“What kind of treatment suits me the best?”

In-line, Out-line, In and Out-line..? Epicanthoplasty or not?
It must be really difficult to decide.

It’s important to get prepared “Before surgery process”
(Deciding a shape that suits me)

1.     Stare at the mirror!
While seeing yourself, think precisely and see what your eye’s complexion is?

For some cases, there are people who concern a lot about their overall small eyes
and sharp eye’s shape.
That’s why, usually they prefer a clear out-line rather than in-line.
However, if the eyes size is quiet small,
a conclusion we need to see is what the best is for me,
whether do in-and-out line or in-line and go for lateral canthoplasty.

It’s important to try drawing lines around your eyes at home
and listen to a lot of opinions from friends and family.

There are so many cases where people obscurely saying,
“I don’t like my eyes”
but they don’t really know which parts or area
that bothers them or they want to correct.

2.     Make notes before you go for a consultation

To be honest there are people who’s a little bit scared of doctors
and has a consultation nauseous too.
However, for their eyes best decision result of the rest of their life,
they can’t only say “Ugh, I’m nervous.. I’m trembling..”
If they have a consultation nauseous and might forget what questions to ask,
write questions on post it.

For example:
ü  I want to have a fresh look by in and out line.
If I do lateral canthoplasty, can I have a fresh look only by in-line procedure?
ü  If I go for epicanthoplasty, how my overall face would look like?
ü  I also would like to do facial contouring surgery
and already decided certain shape, would there be any effect?

3.     When we go for a consultation, see your face in the mirror
and ask everything we’ve been concerned about!

Say NONO to, “Well, the doctor will do what they need to do anyway”
Trusting doctors and exactly know what I really want is totally different!!

That’s because they’re all great doctors
and of course will do their best to make us more beautiful,
BUT
“beautiful eyes shape I wished for” could be totally different thing.

The real trust is about exactly knows what we want,
and asking all the questions and concerns we’ve been thinking all this time.
We can’t just trust a doctor we only met for the first time, right?

4.     Let the doctor make the line on your eyes
and listen to doctor’s decision carefully,
ask the doctor to show you how they’d like to make your eye line.

Of course, drawing line and the real line after surgery
will look a little bit different,
but if we can have this thought,
“Ah.. so it looks like this if I make outline”
will lessen the feeling to run away when we lay down during the surgery.

Q2.
“How long is the recovery time?”

This usually what people concerns the most.
People who are planning for the surgery usually go during work long break
and they need to go back to their daily work right after the surgery.
Also, I believe that most of you who are reading this
also on your working time at the moment.

You can find a lot of support through blogs.
“If non-incisional method takes a week,
and minimal incision method takes 2 weeks”
It’s an easy diagnosis.

Yup, that’s right!
“Swelling is different depends on the person.”
However, that’s not what we want to hear, right?

If we see a case for “minimal incisional method”,

On the 1st week,
Wearing rimmed glasses will help to look less noticeable.
Unless, we meet someone who is close to us,
then we would be a little bit hesitant.

On the 2nd week,
It would be okay to go out with just putting a little bit eye shadow
on the incision line and wear rimmed glasses.

At this time usually we feel a little bit embarrassed.
However, when you look the mirror and see yourself become more beautiful now, you would feel more confident.
Even if there are some people that give you some strange look,
you could just think “So what?” and you don’t have to think about it too much.

On the 3rd week,
Only by putting makeup without glasses, meeting people out would be fine.

After a month,
You won’t be embarrassed at all!

You would forget your actual eye shape
and just think that your eyes now is the real one
(The most dangerous time, lol)
Friends that you haven’t seen for a long time would probably say,
”Wow! You got way prettier than before!”,
“you look so different!”,
without realizing that your eyes look way better by that moment.

[An Introduction to Banobagi Plastic Surgery] The answer for Ptosis, 'Non-incision ptosis correction'!

[An Introduction to Banobagi Plastic Surgery]
The answer for Ptosis, 'Non-incision ptosis correction'!

It is often said that the first impression is made on first meet of 3~5 seconds.
According to a study by American psychologist Albert Merabian,
the first image consists of 55% visual, 35% auditory and 7% linguistic elements.
It means that appearance has big impact on the first impression.
Our eyes take a big part among the face and the first face to face gaze is the moment
where eyes last the longest.
A clear and bright eye gets a good score on first impression
but a sleepy and blurry eye makes less good impression.
Especially if people around you often said that you look sleepy
or if you feel that you need to give more energy to open your eyes,
you should suspect a ptosis.
Normally when the eyes are opened naturally,
80 ~ 90% of the pupil should be seen but if there is a ptosis,
the eyelids covered the eyes pupil and it looks sleepy or stuffy.
Ptosis caused by natural inherent weakness of lifting the eyelids
or due to acquired aging, trauma and various habits.
Sometimes there are people who try to solve ptosis by double eyelid surgery.
If you only get eyelid surgery done,
you can imagine that your eyes will look bigger and become clearer.
However, ptosis is basically a symptom of weak eye muscles that covers pupil,
so it can’t be solved only by receiving double eyelid surgery.
Instead of double eyelid surgery,
tension muscle should be controlled through eye correction surgery.

If you have eyelid ptosis and do not correct them but only get double eyelid surgery;

even if the double eyelids are made, not only unnatural,

they are likely going to be uneven eyelid and even if you have another eyelid surgery,
the chance for it to get loose is high.

Eye correction surgery is a technique to improve the root that caused of ptosis
and strengthens the power to open the eye
and can change sleepy looking eye into a clearer eye.
It depends on the cases; double eyelid surgery and combination surgery
along with aesthetic area should be fully considered.

Most of the time, eye correction is performed by using incision method.
However, since this method incised the upper part of the eyelid,
there are some minus points because it leaves scar or takes long recovery.

In recent years, there has been a good result of a surgical method called
"Non-incision ptosis correction".
Non-incision ptosis correction is a surgery that sews a thread inside the eyelid
without incision to tie a part of the eye-lifting muscles
and reduce the length of the muscle.
When the muscle length is shorten, the strength of the eye is relatively strong,
and it is possible to have sharp and clear eye.

Above all, you can see the effect as much as incision method
but recovery to daily life is quick and double eyelid line is as natural.
Although the recovery period is individual, it usually takes 5 to 7 days to recover
and the latest is almost a month for the surgical area.

Non-incision ptosis correction surgery is more difficult than double eyelid surgery
because it is an operation that ties and fixes the muscles.
Therefore, it is suggested to get surgery by a specialist
who is well experienced in ptosis correction.
In addition, it is difficult to understand the condition of your own eyes,
so it is better to consult with the specialist.
