Recently, the number of patients seeking Korean plastic surgeons has increased
not only in China but also in Southeast Asia, North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
Beauty, Plastic Surgery and Cosmetics industries are increasing a rapid growth
by more than 20% every year.
Especially, Korean Plastic Surgery tourism industry
has become one of the representative items of K-beauty.

According to Korea Tourism Organization,
3 out of 10 Chinese medical tourists have received plastic surgery or dermatology treatment
at Plastic Surgery Clinic in Korea.

In recent years, more and more people are seeking Korean Plastic Surgery,
not only in China but also in Southeast Asia, North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

become one of Korean charm together with K-POP and K-Drama fever
from around the globe for its high satisfaction Plastic Surgery result

In February last year, according to the Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Laser Conference,

followed by 'Eye surgery', 'fat grafting', 'Filler& Botox', and 'face contouring’ treatment.

The reason for Western and Middle Eastern patients having Rhinoplasty is that
they want to trim the nose or lower the nose and make the nose shape
looks more beautiful as usually it’s too large.
It’s different from Korean whom prefers Rhinoplasty to mainly raise the nose
and makes it slimmer.

Recently, in the case of Iran, Korean dramas have become really popular,
and this phenomenon is getting bigger,
and the number of women who want to make a face shape same as
Lee, Young Ae from Drama 'Dae Jang Geum'
and Han Hye Jin from Drama ‘Jumong’ is increasing.

Banobagi Plastic Surgery Dr. Lee, Hyuntaek said,

and there are increasing numbers of foreign patients seeking hospitals in Korea

Last year, there was a noticeable increase in the number of
male and middle-aged plastic surgery patients in Korea.
According to the Banobagi Medical Group, the number of men increased by 5.9%,
50s increased by 12%, and 60s increased by 23%,
respectively compared to the same period of last year.
This is incompatible aspect to the target age on 20s by 12% decreases
and 0.6% decrease in the female target.

In ages 50s and 60s, the most common Plastic Surgery suggestion
is "anti-aging" surgery, which improves wrinkle issues.
As the age of social activities increases with the aging society,
there is an increasing interest in the "healthy and younger living" among middle age people.

It’s applied the same as men.
As there are more and more self-investing 'grooming people' these days
which gives preference on ['well dressed-up' or 'self-decorating'] males growing
in the society and have bigger demand to men plastic surgery.
A recent survey of 1,769 male and female workers surveyed by Job Korea
found that 88% of respondents said that their appearance is one factor
that determined their competitiveness in the workplace.

According to the Banobagi Medical Group,
the most common procedures were performed about last year in the order is
'Eye surgery', 'Anti-Aging surgery', 'Rhinoplasty', 'Breast Augmentation',
and 'Face contouring' (Excluding Filler & Botox treatment).

In addition, the actual Plastic surgery that has been done in the age and sex ratio group
in their 20s are 28.5% which is the highest,
in the 30s (24.3%), 40s (19.6%), 50s (14%), teenagers (7.3%), and 60s (5.2%),
among them are about 90% of women and 10% of men.

Dr. Lee said, "As more and more plastic surgery is being considered as
a confidence investment for some people,
this method considered as simultaneous functional problems
and external complex improvement for both men and women,
not just for young women in their twenties who are interested in appearance correction.
Especially, the Plastic Surgery for middle-aged women is
one way to overcome an emotional healing for middle-aged crisis feeling issues
due to physical and social changes, so it’s good to change the negative social perception."
