Rhinoplasty is one of the plastic surgery types

that revision surgery is being done as much as primary one.

According to statistics released by the Korea Consumer Agency in January,

about 3 out of 10 patients complained of side effects after rhinoplasty undergone.

There are a lot of cases where most of revision rhinoplasty patients

underestimated their face’s harmony, and when they went for rhinoplasty,

they often go for revision surgery because of the unnatural result.

Other than that, there are also cases where some patients

have problems with the skin tissue,

such as nose contracture or silicone allergic reaction after rhinoplasty.

Also, there are revision rhinoplasty cases caused by implant displacement

or the nose shape deformation by silicone.

Banobagi Plastic Surgery Clinic, Dr. Kim, Harkyoung said,

"The difficulty level of revision rhinoplasty is higher than normal rhinoplasty

and there are variable causes of revision surgery.

Surgery plan must be established after the precise examination done

inside of the nose since it’s difficult to determine by only naked eye.

Especially, there might be a lot of skin problems such as adhesion or desquamation,

which makes it much more difficult than the primary surgery.

He also said, “Therefore, the surgeon should have plenty of experiences

of the overall understanding of the revision surgery, implants, and the human’s soft tissue."

It is also important to know and decide the appropriate time for revision rhinoplasty.

If turned out that you simply do not like the result of nose height or line,

then the most appropriate procedure is to have revision

after at least 6 months from the last operation.

It is because the swelling could only go down after about 6 months

and the current nose condition can be figured out correctly,

and the tissue damage from the surgery is recovered then.

If the surgical wound is not fully recovered, revision surgery may be difficult

because the internal nose condition is not recovered yet.

On the other hand, if side effects occur due to the problem of implants,

it is better to visit the hospital and solve it as soon as possible

because of the high risk of contracture as well as inflammation.

Especially, in the case of skin necrosis;

if the revision surgery time is missed, problems on surgical area may occur

and the shape may be shriveling up or the nose tip might be upturned.

Since it could cause upturned nose,

it is recommended treating the inflammation area as soon as side effects occur

and doing the revision surgery.

Dr. Kim said, "It is important to decide when to progress the revision surgery

and consider the reason, surgery timing and the surgery method

also checking patient's skin and physical condition.

Also, please do the consultation carefully with a specialist to consider the nose function,

face harmony, right choices for implant and cartilage,

than prioritizing the surgery only to elevate the nose height."

I had self-esteem due to protruded mouth since young.

This mouth made my image strong and looks mad all the time.

I also look older than my age which was very stressful.T.T

                                               

Before Surgery

I look okay when I smile, but when I have no expression, 

my mouth protrusion is worse with thicker lips..

So I went to the plastic surgery clinic and found out about Two Jaw Surgery.

I have done Two jaw surgery with Cheekbone and jaw reduction surgery.

I couldn’t et any the night before and felt nervous and couldn’t sleep.. T.T

When I woke up, the surgery was done, 

and I couldn’t say in word how I felt at that time.. T.T

I could breathe with my nose only, which was very discomforting and feel like sleeping.

But while I was staying in the clinic, Dr.Oh and Dr.Jung came to check my condition and encouraged me which made me felt relieving.

 1 week after surgery

I took the photo with face band on!

Swelling is subsiding than the first day, and bruise under eyes are fading away. 

I guess best recovery is home ^^

3 weeks after surgery

I went for a check-up at the dentist and still, I can only eat soft food.. T.T

I have done cheekbone and square jaw reduction together,

that’s why my recovery is slower than others..

I should be more patient with swelling subsidence~

Here is the comparison of before and after the surgery~

I can see how amazing the result is after two jaw surgery by comparison.

2 months after surgery

I can now eat anything which make me gain more weight. I should started on my diet..

I felt much pain right after the surgery, but now, I don’t even remember the pain. Some people I know do not notice me as same person, and some say I look younger than before which is good~~

3 months after surgery

I had no difficulties in anything now, only I can see more fats on cheek area as I eat more…

Swellings have subsided, and cheekbone is reduced very much, right?

I was discouraged because of cheekbone and square jaw, but not anymore!

I was wearing braces after surgery, and do not know until when I have to wear this..T.T

I hated my profile because of my protruded mouth, but now, 

I am amazed to see my profile everyday!

No make-up in both photos, and see the difference in slimmer face in the after photo? 

The face got smaller, and bumpy face line became smooth^^

6 months after surgery

Finally have done the Accusculpting!

Most people who have done the face contouring get Accusculpting done. 

I was nervous before the surgery, but it was like a treatment, 

the surgery was done so fast and it did not hurt!

I slept and woke up, and it was done! hehe

Swelling isn’t that bad at all ^^

7 months after surgery

As time passes, it seems like I had this face since born,, haha

Before I had developed cheekbone and square jaw with protruded mouth, 

which made me look angry at all times and it made me stressful. 

The surgery has corrected these matters and complex is fully healed now.

I have done the nose revision surgery which was firstly done at other clinic. 

I used septum and ear cartilage with W incision method. 

The forehead fat grafting is done on forehead using fats extracted from thighs! 

The best thing I am satisfied after nose revision surgery is my changed image which was strong due to silicone on glabella, but droopy nose tip has enhanced. It looks like I look younger than before because of lowered nose bridge~

9 months after surgery

The swelling from two jaw surgery is almost gone, but little swelling left from accusculpting. 

I am excited to see final result after all the swelling subsidence!!

I am fully satisfied about the surgery and result!! 100% !!

So many things changed in my life in a good way. 

I had difficult times after surgery, 

but it is all erased and make me happy whenever I see myself and taking selfies.

I am so happy to live these days!

Two jaw surgery is usually done at dental clinic with orthodontic treatment. 

I have consulted with dental clinics or plastic surgery clinic with dental clinic collaborated, but some only suggested orthodontic treatment. 

But when I think about it now, 

I wouldn’t be the case for orthodontic only, but also two jaw surgery together. 

I did have protruded mouth with little bit of jutting chin..

What if I chose the wrong clinic and not do the surgery, but only orthodontic treatment? 

Then the result will not be satisfying,, but now, even if I am wearing the braces, 

I know my mouth protrusion is corrected so it is very satisfying.

Hello all! I’m Flower who got surgery done for face contouring ~

I’ve been stressed due to big and wide face structure.

I thought defined eyes and nose will make my face structure less noticeable, so I for eye and nose surgery done once, but still sired looking eyes and bulbous nose did not fix anything.

This is me before the surgery.. 

As I mentioned, I got surgery done for eyes and nose once but my nose is droopy and the shape looks like Avatar.. That’s what my friends teased me for my nose.

This is reason why I decided to get the surgery done.

On the day of the surgery

I got face contouring, nose revision, and partial incision double eyelid surgery with ptosis correction for eyelid revision. So swelled,, T.T

Bulbous nose tip is corrected with ear cartilage, and changed the silicone to slimmer one than before. One failure is enough, right?

1 week after the surgery

I visited the clinic. The swelling subsided a lot than the first day, right? I don’t have drastic change due to my swelling, but still, I can see smooth face line which made me feel so happy!

2 weeks after the surgery 

I started wearing the face band for smoother faceline and slimmer cheek. I feel more comfortable when sleeping now.

I think it is good to wear face band whenever I feel like my chin is heavy.

This is my eyes and nose condition~

You can’t even notice the surgery for my eyes, right? It’s been only 2 weeks and after stitch removal, the swelling subsided really quick!

My nose will look better after more swelling subsidence~

3 weeks after the surgery 

I went to the clinic to remove remaining stitch removal.

And regularly wear face band~

I think the swelling is subsiding more and more.

I like the eye shape~ and nose shape will be more slimmer~

1 month after the surgery 

 

I did some make-up and went out..

I thought this day would never come.. ^^

The face line is not perfect due to swelling, but it is already smooth enough and natural. I should concentrate more on minor swelling subsidence!

5 weeks after the surgery 

Before the surgery, I always had to cover my width of wide face, but I don’t have to do that anymore.

The surgery is done naturally which is the most satisfaction part, so I don’t have to worry about becoming awkward.

So impressed for my change day by day these days!

My nose was straight before the revision, but now it is more curved than straight!

I didn’t want my nose to become like Pinocchio, but gladly, it is done naturally^^

I eat anything I want now, which worries me for gaining weight and faceline won’t show due to fats on my face….^^;;

Surgery is important, but post-operative management is really important such as swelling management, and mouth opening practice, etc.

3 months after the surgery 

I went to the clinic for check up~~

My nose got much slimmer and eyes are really natural, right?

Face line became much slimmer, too!

But for more natural and smooth face line, I decided to fill the sunken part with fats and tighten the rest of area with Accusculpting!

The time goes really fast~~

I don’t remember the time I worried about the swelling..

Compare to before the surgery, I changed a lot, right?

It is enough for me, but for better me, I want to get Accusculpting,, hehe

All my friends and relatives are surprised how much my face got small~~

As my face got smaller, I challenge to try different hair styles and make-ups. 

Of course, this means I am more confident about myself ^^

My overall thought of plastic surgery is,, naturalness is most important. >_<
