Private-led hermit patient medical support activity

The social contribution project, which provides medical support to the hermit patients

living in isolation from the society due to congenital physical disability

or unexpected accident, is carried out privately.

Volunteering Korea (hereinafter “VK”),

Complex Health Examination Center Korea Medical Research Institute (hereinafter “KMI”),

and Medical institutes of various fields

(plastic surgery, buns, orthopedics, neuropsychiatry, dentistry, etc.)

gathered up on Nov 28, 2017, and the 'Medical Patient Support Group' was established.

The purpose of this support team is to provide medical support for hermit patients

as well as opportunities for them to act proudly as members of society

under the slogan 'break the egg and take a step together in the world’.

The recipient of this project is people who avoid socializing

because of external physical condition such as deformities, high obesity or burns.

KMI is responsible for stable financial support and management

for five years of donation through annual donation of 200 million KRW.

VK takes part of finding recipients and social support.

Other medical institutions such as BANOBAGI Plastic Surgery, 365mc,

Bestian Foundation, and Seoul Top Dental Clinic planned to make efforts

to cure bodies and minds of recipients.

The medical support team for the hermit patients

will officially begin their work next year from January,

after the official start-up ceremony on January 13th with the presence of National Health

and Welfare Chairman and the other members of the hospital of the National Assembly.

Kim SoonYi, chairman of KMI, said, "We are glad to have such a meaningful business

with various organizations. We will do our best to restore people’s body

and mind as soon as possible to help them play a good role as a member of society. "

Recently, more and more people from Western and Middle Eastern countries

such as North America and Europe are seeking for Korean plastic surgery clinic.
